 ChapChap is a digital market place that offers products which promote the adoption of mobile payment while enabling it’s user to Pay, Earn and Save.

How do I access ChapChap?

ChapChap is available on Android and Web. To get ChapChap, go to Google Play or App Store and Search for ChapChap or visit https://chapchap.co.

What do I need to use ChapChap?

To use ChapChap, you need a smart phone running on Android version 4.0 and above or for Iphones, iOS version 8.0

What is a Referral Code?

Referral code is the Mobile Number of a Registered ChapChap Agent, Customer or Merchant recommending you though it’s not mandatory and can be “Skipped” in case you don’t have one.

How to register as a Customer?

Follow the steps below;

On the Website

Step 1:  Go to the website; http://chapchap.co

Step 2:  Click on Register. 

Step 3: Sign Up As “Customer”

Step 4: Enter your Phone Number for verification.

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit code sent to your Phone Number.         

Step 5: Choose SignUp Type. ”Register As Customer”

Step 6: Enter the Referral Code. 

*Referral code is a Mobile Number of a Registered ChapChap Agent or Customer recommending you.  In case you don’t have one, simply tap “SKIP”

Step 7: Fill and Submit the registration form then you will be redirected to your account.

 *All information must be complete and accurate.

On the Mobile App

Step 1:  Go to Google Play or App store. Download the ChapChap App.

Step 2:  Start/Open the ChapChap App.

Step 3:  Select Register and enter your Mobile Number.

Step 4:  Enter the 6-digit code sent to your Mobile Number and Continue.

Step 5: Select register as a “Customer”.

Step 6: Enter the Referral Code and in case you don’t have one, Tap “Skip”

Step 7: Verify and confirm referral details then fill in the registration form.

Step 8: Set your password and Tick “I agree with the terms and conditions”

Step 9: You will then be redirected to your account.

How do I register as a Merchant?

Follow the steps below;

On the Website

Step 1:  Go to the website; http://chapchap.co

Step 2:  Click on Register then select as “Merchant” 

Step 3: Enter your Mobile Number and click on Next.

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit Code sent to your Mobile Number and continue.

Step 5: Enter the Referral Code and in case you don’t have one, Tap “Skip”

*Referral Code is the Mobile Number of a Registered ChapChap Agent or Merchant recommending you.

Step 6: Verify referral details and proceed by filling in the registration form.

Step 7: Set your password and Tick to agree with the Terms and Conditions.

Step 8: On Payment Information, Select the respective payment option (MTN or Airtel mobile money).

Step 9:  Enter phone number where the mobile money is and proceed.

Step 10:  A pop up message from Mobile money will appear on your Mobile phone where the Mobile Money Number is.

Step 11:  Approve the transaction from your MTN or Airtel mobile phone number by entering your “Pin”

*In the event that the pop up doesn’t come, first ensure you have enough funds on Mobile Money including the transaction charges.

*For MTN dial *165# and then select “My Approvals”. Should the transaction not be in “My Approvals” then reinitiate the process and start from Step 2.

*For Airtel, reinitiate the registration process from step 2 for the Website.

Step 12: Approve the transaction and a confirmation message will be sent to your Mobile Money Number as well as a “Welcome Message from the CEO” is sent to your registered email from ChapChap.

Step 13: You will be redirected to your account.

*All information submitted must be complete and accurate.

*Please note that there is a one-time subscription fee of twenty thousand shillings (20,000).

On the Mobile App

Step 1:  Go to Google Play. Download the ChapChap App.

Step 2:  Start/Open the ChapChap App and click on Register.

Step 3: Enter your Mobile Number

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit Code sent to your Mobile Number and continue.

Step 5: Enter the Referral Code and in case you don’t have one, simply tap “Skip”.

Differences between a Merchant and a Customer?

Some of the differences between a Merchant and Customer are;

Merchant

      Consists of the Point Of Sale feature for business management.

      Can only refer a merchant.

      Earns float for recommending another merchant.

      Pays a subscription fee to register.

Customer

       Registers for free.

       Can only recommend a fellow customer.

      Earns Cashback bonus from his directly enrolled customers.

      Can only convert Cashback and Cashback bonus back to float to consume on the ChapChap Platform.

 

How to login?

To login, follow the steps below;

On the Mobile App

Step 1: Open the ChapChap Application

Step 2: Select “Sign in”.

Step 3: Enter your Registered ChapChap Number.

Step 4: Enter ChapChap Password and click “Login”.

You can now use the ChapChap Application

On the Website

Step 1:  Go to https://chapchap.co.

Step 2:  Click on Log in.

Step 3: Enter your registered ChapChap Number

Step 4: Enter ChapChap Password and click on “Login “.

How do I buy float?

Follow the steps below to Buy Float;

Step 1: Ensure you have mobile money on your phone. 

Step 2: Go to the ChapChap Mobile App or Website and Select “Buy Float”.

Step 3: Enter Airtel or Mtn Mobile Money Number on which the money is.

Step 4: Enter Amount and Proceed.

Step 5: A pop up message from Mobile Money will appear on your Mobile phone where the Mobile Money is.

Step 6: Approve the transaction from your MTN or Airtel mobile phone number using your mobile money PIN number. The funds will be deduction from your Mobile Money account, a confirmation message is sent to your Mobile Money Number and a “ChapChap Receipt” with the Stock Package purchased is sent to your registered email from ChapChap.

*In the event that the pop up does not come, first ensure you have enough funds on Mobile Money including the transaction charges.

For MTN dial *165# and then select “My Approvals”. Should the transaction not be in “My Approvals” then reinitiate the Buy Stock process by closing the App and Start/Run it again and start from Step 2.

For Airtel, reinitiate the Buy Stock process by closing the App and Start/Run it again and start from Step 2.

Step 7: The purchased float will now appear under Statements in “Stock Counter” in the menu.

 

How to check my Float balance?

On the Mobile App

Step 1:  Go to Menu

Step 2:  Under menu, select “Statements”. 

Step 3:  View your worth of Float.

On the Website

Step 1:  Go to https://chapchap.co

Step 2:  Log into your account.

Step 3: View your Float balance directly on the home page.

 

How to top up Airtime?

Step 1: Go to Mobile Top up.

Step 2: Select the Respective Network.

Step 3: Enter the phone number and Amount.

Step 4: Click proceed and confirm payment details.

Step 6: Enter your ChapChap PASSWORD and proceed.

*Commission is earned from the transaction.

 

How to pay bills?

Step 1: Go to Pay Bills.

Step 2: Select the bill to pay.

Step 3: Enter your particulars.

Step 4: Enter amount.

Step 5: Confirm your transaction details and proceed.

Step 6: Enter your ChapChap PASSWORD.

*Commission or Cashback is earned from the transaction.

 

How to confirm a transaction was successful?

“Commission or Cashback” earned is confirmation that a transaction was successfully.

To view your Commission or Cashback, go to Transaction History using the following steps;

On the Mobile App

Step 1:  Go to Menu

Step 2:  Select Transaction History 

Step 3: Select the respective Cashback to view details for the transaction.

*The Mobile App displays up to 30 transactions

On the Website

Step 1:    Login at https://chapchap.co

Step 2:   Click on Statements.

Step 3:   Select Cashback. 

Step 4:   Select the respective Cashback to view details for the transaction.

*The Website displays up to 200 transactions per category (Commissions, Cashbacks, Mobile topup and Pay Bills)

How do I earn cashback and cashback bonus?

You earn Cashback from your personal transactions and Cashback bonus from the transactions of the people you have recommended only if you are a CUSTOMER.

How to share Float.

To Share float, follow the steps below;

On the mobile Application

Step 1: Go to Share/send float.

Step 2: Enter the number of the person you intend to share float with (Person must be a registered chapchap User).

Step 3: Enter amount you intend to share and select “Next”

Step 4: Confirmation details of the person you are sharing to.

Step 5: Enter your ChapChap PASSWORD and “Proceed”.

A confirmation message that your Float has been successfully shared appears.

 *The minimum stock one can share is 1000 while the maximum is 100,000.

 

How to retrieve receipt?

To view a Receipt, save or/and print for a specific transactions, follow the steps below;

On the Mob App

Step 1:    Go to Menu.

Step 2:    Select Transaction History.

Step 3:    Select the respective Cashback/ used float from that particular transaction made.

Step 4:    Select “Receipt” 

Step 5:  In cases where you wish to save/send your receipt, select “Save Receipt”.

On the Website

Step 1:    Login at https://chapchap.co

Step 2:    Click on Statements

Step 3:    Under statements, select the respective Cashback/ used float.

Step 4:    Click on the Receipt Icon under the “Receipt” column in line with that cashback. Export your receipt to be able to save/print your receipt.

How to retrieve my Yaka Token after payment

On the Mobile App

Step 1:    Go to Menu.

Step 2:    Select Transaction History.

Step 3:    Select the respective Cashback obtained from that particular Yaka transaction.

Step 4:    Select “Status” then enter your password and view your details including the token number.

Or

Notifications/Messages Step 1:  On the Main Menu.

Step 2:  Go to the Message icon.

Step 3:  A confirmation message is sent with the Token Number.

 

How do I refresh my application?

To refresh your Application, follow the steps below;

On the Mob App

Step 1:  Go to the Menu.

Step 2:  Select “Settings” 

Step 3: Under the settings page, see to the upper right corner, there is a refresh icon (Circular arrow shaped).

Step 3:  Select the refresh icon.

*Ensure you have a good Internet connection.

When do I need to refresh my Application?

We recommend refreshing of your Application when;

      Your purchased Float is NOT reflecting on your account.

      Your Commission, Cashback and Cashback bonus NOT reflecting.

      In the event that you get a message with “Insufficient balance” when making a transaction.

      In the event that there is any inaccurate information on the application.

Can my Float be reversed in case purchased Airtime or paid bill is to a wrong account?

NO, Float can NOT be reversed once a transaction is successfully made. Ensure you enter the right information.

What happens when I cannot see Airtime or bill I paid for?

I  Forgot my Password. How do I Reset my Password?

To reset your Password, follow the steps below;

On the Mobile App

Step 1: Go to the Menu on the top right corner.

Step 2: Select “Settings”.

Step 3:  Select “Reset Password”. In case it’s not there, please update your Application by going to Google Play Store and searching for “ChapChap” then update.

Step 4:  Confirm reset by selecting “Yes Reset”.

Step 5:  Select reset by Email

Step 6:  Put in your chapchap registered number and submit.

Step 7: An email reset link will be sent to the email address you used while registering with ChapChap.

Step 8: Go to the inbox of your email. There will be an email from ChapChap titled “ChapChap Password reset”. Sometimes the reset email can be found in the Spam or Junk folder of your mail.

Step 9: Select the clickable reset password link. It will redirect you to a website. If it is not clickable, Copy and paste it in website browser like Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer.

Step 10: Enter the new password and confirm.

Step 11: Click “Reset”

Step 12: Log in to the App so that the password is updated

Step 1:  Go to https://chapchap.co.

Step 2:  On the Website; Click on login.

Step 3:  The page will load and select “Forgot Password”

Step 4:  Enter your Registered ChapChap Number.

Step 5:  An Email reset link will be sent to the email address you used while registering.

Step 6:  Select the clickable reset password link. It will redirect you to the reset password page.

Step 7:  Enter the new password and confirm.

Step 8:  Go to Website, login with the new PASSWORD.

What does invalid number/unrecognized number mean?

Invalid number/unrecognized number means you are entering an incorrect number. Check and confirm the number you are entering to make sure it’s the correct intended one.

How do I view messages?

To view messages and notifications on the ChapChap platform, follow the steps below on the Mobile App;

Step 1:  Go to the Message icon (Envelope icon).

Step 2: Select the message to read.

 

How to use my commission and cashback or cashback bonus?

Customers can convert the cashback and cashback bonus to float to consume on the platform. You should however have accumulated 1,000 and more worth of Cashback and Cashback bonus to convert to Stock.

Merchants can however use their commission to transact since it’s automatically converted back to float on the 15th of every month.

How do I convert cashback and cashback bonus to float? (For only Customers)

The steps below demonstrate how to convert Cashback and Cashback bonus to Stock;

Step 1:    Go to Menu.

Step 2:    Select “Statements”.

Step 3:    Select “Payout”.

Step 4:    Select “Buy Stock” and the respective Package from “Mini” to “Corporate”.

Step 6:    Enter PASSWORD.

Step 7:    Check your Stock Counter.

*Only “Total Available” is the actual cashback that can be converted to Stock.

*Minimum amount that can be converted is 1,000 and maximum as 500,000.

Step 1:    Login at https://chapchap.co

How to view your outstanding balance on Utility bills?

To view your outstanding balance on Utility bills (YAKA, POSTPAID and NWSC), follow the steps below;

Step 1: Go to Pay Bills

Step 2: Select the respective bill type (YAKA, POSTPAID and  NWSC)

Step 3: Enter the respective particulars and “Proceed”.

Step 4: A confirmation page will appear with transaction summary including the outstanding balance below.
